Roomy Refrigerator with a Freezer that Needs Help

The refrigerator is well lit and it is easy to see the contents of drawers and shelves. Shelves can be configured to personal preference. Controls are easily set. The Freezer would benefit, in my opinion, from baskets or a form for configuring space. The bottom section is a "hunt for all" as items, even though initially separated according to type (meat, breads etc), become jumbled when searching for something or when attempting to fit an item into the drawer. I anticipated a a freezer with more space and underestimated our freezer needs

I purchased this GRFN2853AF0 refrigerator and had it delivered 8/11/23 and it has been a complete frustration ever since. First the delivering company damaged my brand new hardwood floors delivering the fridge. Then I realized the fridge was coding out and unresponsive on the door controls. There was also condensation in the fridge and causing mold and leaking into the freezer. They came out and replaced the main board on 11/16/23. Same problem happened again in July 2024, they came out and replaced main board once again on 8/16/24. At this point the company that fixed the issue stated if it happened again they would need to replace the fridge. The same problem has now happened once again in December of 2024. I called Frigidaire and spent 1.5 hrs with customer service for them to tell me the warranty is now over and I will need to pay $325 +tax for someone to come out and fix it or $99 just for them to come out. He then suggested to buy an extended warranty if it happens again for $185/yr. I asked if they could make an exception to the warranty or give me store credit and that I no longer want this Fridge or care to pour any money into it. I was yet again denied.

We have had our new fridge for a few weeks now. This is a very nice refrigerator so far. The hummmmm of the old fridge is gone. Yay! Too bad the first fridge was badly damaged. The second one also came with a small issue but we kept it since it was not very noticeable. The only noise we hear is when the ice maker is working but it isn't too loud and doesn't last long. We have an open concept and noise is a big deal for us. I would prefer an option in the freezer that pulls the top rack (with the ice) when opened. This fridge would have gotten 5 stars but the little plastic lock where the shelves fit together (when they are side by side) gave me trouble getting the shelves in correctly. I also had to figure out the plastic piece that goes on the back of the shelves. All in all we are vey happy with our purchase.

While the space inside the refrigerator is truly impressive, it™€™s a bit awkward to adjust to. Moving shelves to really customize it is a challenge, and it™€™s easier to just rearrange where things go. The door closing could definitely be softer, it jostles things on the door. Also, you need to put a washcloth under the water dispenser inside, as it drips. This thing is a beast. Make SURE that you have the dimensions accurate, because it takes up a lot of space to swing those doors. The freezer is very tiny and cramped-feeling, with almost no customization available. Ice tumbles into the drawer, so you™€™ll need to pick up an ice scoop. The shelf is definitely a nice touch, and the kiddos find the freezer being on the bottom puts things in their range. Which, can also be considered a negative, depending upon the situation. That said, the interior is very elegant feeling, with soft LED lighting that gradually increases on opening the door, so you can access the contents without blinding your neighbors. We had this refrigerator delivered just before Christmas, and it really impressed me with how well it worked, even with the less-than-pleasant aspects. Fact is, you CAN adjust it to provide you with an almost alarming amount of space. There™€™s no butter door, by the way. Little thing, but definitely jarred me. All in all, not a perfect appliance, but definitely one I™€™d get again, at this point of ownership. The ice maker appears to produce just slightly more ice than our family of 4 consumes, so there™€™s plenty for company, or a larger family. A smaller family usage may result in needing to dump it on occasion. Because of the fridge being above the freezer, it does hinder our kids from accessing it so easily, which again, may be a positive. Our 6 year old can only reach about a third of the refrigerator, for a comparison.

We recently purchased this refrigerator in November 2024. Great size refrigerator with ample, sturdy shelving. I like the fact that the ice dispenser is inside the freezer and the water dispenser is inside on the refrigerator door. I am very pleased with this purchase because of those features. However, the water dispenser, which we use daily, has begun to drip after each use... so much that I have had to place a small dish on the shelf below the dispenser to catch the drips. So I do need to call for service on the part.

We chose the model so it would match the rest of the appliances in the kitchen of the home we had just purchased. It™€™s noisy and the technician they sent had nothing to fix. ™€œIt™€™s normal operating clicks™€. Other than that we do like the machine and the space it provides. The water dispenser in the door and filter out of the way are really nice features. The drawer freezer provides ample space as well.

This is the best fridge I have ever owned. It is user friendly, keeps the temp consistent, makes awesome ice, drawers are "smart" and you can control the temp to what's inside of them. The water dispenser, which I thought would be a problem inside, is great! I just really love it. I had a fancier LG that wouldn't keep a consistent temp and I traded it for this one.

We bought the new refrigerator to replace our 30 year old Maytag that had nothing wrong with it. We just thought it was time to upgrade. Unfortunately, the first one that was delivered did not work. It displayed a fatal error code immediately upon powering up. Needless to say, I was not very happy. We had purchased this model from a local store rather than a big box store. They were exceptional responsive and replaced it immediately with a new one. It's been two weeks and so far we are very happy with the size, the ice maker and the water dispenser. I don't expect to get thirty years out of this one, they just don't make them like that anymore. Satisfied nonetheless.

The functionality was easy to understand, except when I couldn't get my lady refrigerator off of SB mode for a month, lol. I would have hope to have gotten more then 8 years out of refrigerator but that didn't deter me from buying a second. Pricing is comparable to other brands.

I did my research thoroughly before deciding on this model. I thought that for the price, this was a great buy. I liked the clean look of the doors, the interior water dispenser location and the deep crisper and deli drawers.

The unit has good looks and plenty of capacity in refrigerator and freezer compartments. The interior lighting is very effective. The refrigerator shelf height adjustment could be easier. I'd like them to pull out.
